Sturgeon River

Paddling the Sturgeon River is highly dependent on precipitation levels throughout the Winter, Spring and Summer. This past Summer in 2021 we experience some of the lowest river conditions in recent memory making it quite unfavourable for boats. Beaver Dams and low/shallow spots, as well as algae and plant life also contribute to the difficulty.

See you in the spring of 2022!

When the water is low, its extremely difficult to get from the  Cunningham Bridge to Riel Recreation Park and we won't be offering this route.
